ok I'm retarded (trany drain plug question)
I just drained the trany fluid from the big bolt on the bottom however after looking here http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/transfluid.htm it is supposed to be drained from the small drain plug on the side. I drained it there as well however I was wondering if I did anything bad by draining it from the big bottom hole as well??? Thanks.
no, youre supposed to drain it fom the plug on the bottom. Youre just supposed to open the side fill hole first so that you don't drain all the tranny fluid just to find out you cant fill it up again.
Reread the website you posted and it will all make sense.

Isn't there two on the side? One higher to fill it with, and the lower...

There are only 2 plugs on the side for the TII tranny. N/A have only one fill plug, where you fill and check at the same plug.

no look it says to use the small drain plug on the side. It says open the drain plug the same way as opening the fill plug.

Wow, both of you have been here longer than me and have more post counts, so i am wondering if i understood your question correctly or not?
Here's a simple quick guide to tranny oil change:
1. Remove fill/check plugs located on the side of the tranny.
2. Remove the Big bolt on the bottom, place pan to catch old oil.
3. Close bottom drain plug.
4. Fill new tranny oil, you can use a home made pump, turkey baster, funnel with tubing, etc.
5. Fill until the oil starts to coming out of the fill plug on N/A or check plug on TII model.
6. Close fill/check plugs.
And you're done.
P.S. to figure out how to make a homemade pump, see aaroncakes site.

I know all that and besides post counts don't matter because I have almost 2k posts and I still consider myself a newb
The thing I was saying is if you look at the pic the number 1 is where you are supposed to drain it not the big bolt on the bottom because when I took the small drain plug out after taking the big one out there was still more in there so I'm guessing you could use both but if its on a jackstand slanted, you won't get all the trany fluid out until using the side drain plug

Pertaining to Aaroncake's page.... how can you over fill it? I just fill trannies/differentials until the fluid just starts to come over the edge of the fill plug.. let it all drain down, and put it back in.
His little 'pump' thing is ******* ingenious though... put you can pick up a simple pull-suck | push-fill pump for less than 15 bucks. Makes it MUCH faster/easier.

yeah this task is going to be fun! I bought one of those tubes that connect to the top of the bottle.........yeah that didn't work at all. So now I'm going to have to get something else.

You can overfill it if your car is tilted.
I don't know if the TII is different (I think they are the same). But on my tranny you drain from the bottom plug. and fill from the side plug. You will need a hand pump or something to fill this baby up. It can get messy..

The second drain plug, i assume the one that is on the side and below the fill plug on a TII tranny is to drain all the fluid from that compartment being that the tranny is mudular in design.
There are two upper plugs, one is a bit high than the other..... you put oil in the one to the rear of the tranny until oil comes out the one on the front.
