ok guys/gals...........headlights

ok peeps, heres the thing!! I just noticed this today while driving to work. Its being dark lately in the morning, I never really drive my car at night, I turned on my brites today my headlights just went out!! the regular lights work fine. Could there be a problem with the headlight switch or could it be something else. The headlights were replaced last year just for the hell of it(got brighter ones) so I dont think it could be the brights are just burnt out!! is there a relay that i can check also?

thanx
chris

Most definitely not the dimmer relay, most likely the bulbs. All the relay does is switch between the different filaments. If the low-beams work, then the fuse, headlight relay and switch are okay; if the low-beams switch off when you try to turn the high-beams on then the dimmer relay is okay; so that only leaves the bulbs.

Check the bulbs with a DMM before buying new ones, just in case.
