I am in the process of checking out a very clean 87 TII. The car has 137K kilometers on it and the whole thing is completely stock (mechanically). It has a new paint job and has what I thought was a minor body kit on it. When I asked about the body kit I was told it was stock. I didn't know mazda put side skirts, modified front lips and rear bumper covers for the 87 TII. It says special edition on the rear of the car, I thought it was just something the previous owner put on the car when it was painted. The mazda logo is gold the same as the special edition tag. I didn't notice anything different in the interior other than the shift *** top was red.

Did mazda really make an 87 TII special edition? I have never heard of such a thing. The body kit is very minor and the only way someone would know that it's a kit is if they knew RX-7's which kinda leads me to believe that it may be stock. Is this guy just pulling my leg or is this for real?

I know I have seen the front bumper that is on this car somewhere before but I can't remember where, through the front you can still see the grill but the kit makes the bumper go straight down as opposed to slanting back a bit.

Let me know if anyone has seen something like this before.

no I don't have a digi cam, wouldn't be a bad idea to take some pics though. I'll see if I can pick something up.

it might be dealer installed. once upon a time i had an 80 rx7 with a targa top (not the band) and the imsa flare kit, it also at some point had had a turbo on the stock 12a
