Oil feed line

Ok, is the stock line on the turbo a good restriction, to let the turbo only get 30ish psi of oil. (The line that is on the turbo it's self.) Or will I need to run a smaller line + an adapter to it? I tired searching, only found out how to make the restrictive pill or line. I am using an oil filter sandwich, and running a line to feed the turbo, (this is a n/a engine).

Sorry i've tired searching and no luck. Or what would be a good line to run the oil, so it doesn't blow the seals in the turbo.

Thanks in advanced.
Bud.

You can run a 1/4" from the pedestal. Works fine. BB turbos require restrictors.

Lucky for you I happen to be browsing Garret's webpage .

"Journal-bearings function similarly to rod or crank bearings in an engine - oil pressure is required to keep components separated. An oil restrictor is generally not needed except for oil-pressure-induced leakage. The recommended oil feed for journal bearing turbochargers is -4AN or hose/tubing with an ID of approximately 0.25".
Be sure to use an oil filter that meets or exceeds the OEM specifications."

The stock oil feed line looks to be 1/4" but I'm not sure.

Hmmm... If that's the case then, i'll just get the 1/4" line to the turbo then. Or maybe get a -4an line. Thank you for the info . Yes, very lucky for me. I hope this actually helps people who have the same questions as me.

i think the stock hard line is just a tad larger than -4 but a -4 line will be okay.

As long as the stock line is a good enough for the oil supply i'll be happy. (The one connected on the turbo already)
