Oil Bypass pellet install gone horribly wrong?

I am replacing the thermowax pellet and did everything the way all the instructions state. Used an impact gun on the bolt but....

This happened.

What have I gotten myself into here?

Its been so long since I tore one of these appart.....

Did you that four little 10mm bolts that attaches the pulley to the hub? I think there is a little plate that keeps the eshaft bolt from backing out. If you did take off the pulley and plate bolts, the bolt may be stock on that plate. Doesnt look like too much of a problem.

uhhh.. when you removed the bolt.. did you push the clutch down and wedge it with something?

if you did not do this, it is possible that the rear torrington bearing will drop out of position.. when you put everything back together, you end up crushing the bearing and ruin the thrust plate as well..

As long as the measurement from the front of the pulley to the hub measures a max of 0.0961, everything is in place and has not fallen. It is in the fsm.

By the way, I'm slow. Just what *happened*, that distresses you???? I can't tell by looking at the pictures.

This is exactly what I was afraid of. Well....at least i havnt gunned it back togeather yet. Is there usually a noticable differene in the distance between the end of the E-shaft and the pully boss when the bearing has dropped vs not dropped? I have realy no way to verify that small a spec in my garage currently....

What I am more concerned about is that I did not take off the 6mm bolts holding the pullys onto the pully bos and the plate holding the main bolt onto the pullys.

SO was my impact gun rotating the whole engine?

The only way you can tell if the bearing has dropped is to measure.

That pully is on the front of the eccentric, so if your gun was rotating it, then you were rotating the engine. If you were doing this with the bolt loose, that's a great way to tempt fate regarding those bearings.

I held a 2mm thick washer up to the front of the e-shaft and it was almost exactly flush with the pully boss. I'm gonna give it the holy cross and call it good.....If it turns into a jack factory I guess I'll just call it tuition.
