OEM Turbo II Exedy Clutch parts swap?

I've been poking around the forums to see if anyone else has had a similar issue, but no dice so far. I recently purchased and installed a lightweight flywheel, TII trans, OEM exedy clutch kit, and a new slave cylinder. I was informed that this setup should be more than enough for my NA power goals since it can hold near stock TII power levels just fine.

However, I HATE how soft this clutch feels. I have maybe 10k on it and it feels softer than my stock NA clutch with 65k on it. I will also clarify that it is NOT slipping. Is it possible to just switch the pressure plate or should I just swap a whole new 500.00 clutch kit in?

Should the TII OEM clutch feel this soft?

I have adjusted pedal travel and everything was installed properly. Anyone else care to chime in?

New clutches always feel softer ...my na clutch when I changed it felt like nothing was even there I bled it a thousand times trying to get it harder eventually just got used to it.

Try bleeding it a few more times to be sure if it really bothers you get a upgraded pressure plate. Seems like more trouble than it worth if your na imo.

I have bled it numerous times with the results staying the same. I am running itbs and a haltech and will be bridgeporting down the road.

Maybe the best bet is to just buy a new clutch kit at that point and time.

My main concern was if I could just swap a different pressure plate on and have it compatible with oem level disk.

You can swap discs or Pressure plates, whatever you wish.
The Thing is that the Pressure plate may give you more Feel of the pedal,BUT in the long run the disc will be the ultimate factor of how long you will run that combination.
I ran a Bully Spec2..real good feel on both the engagement and the pedal.,It held up rather nicely to my "quirky shifting".
I like to drive sometimes with my foot on the pedal,..sort of expecting to shift but not a real good thing to do for the longevity of the disc that's for sure.

^ That may be the best bet. There is no sense in tearing out the trans when it is working fine for now.

So you had a positive experience with the Bully? I have heard quite a few negatives so I decided to shy away from them when I was perusing clutches. It's good to know that it is a viable option.

If you look into my old posts you will find a Dyno VID at 357HP at the wheels on that clutch.
If not RXtuning and Performance has the video on Facebook.

I went from the stock Exedy to their stage 1 on my miata, and it was completely different. The only difference is the stiffer pressure plate, and I really like it. The stock clutch didn't feel like anything really, but now it is very easy to tell where it grabs.

It seems to hold power fine but it is hard to find the point of engagement if you are used to a stiffer pedal.
