Odd problem

Took the T2 out for a spin tonight and I noticed something funny. I have an Autometer A/F guage on my pillar and everytime I turn right it stops working. At a cruise speed the gauge reads approx. 50-60% into the Stoichiometric area, but I even bump the wheel to turn right and it drops off like it has no signal. I recently re-grounded the car because of hesitation and bucking. This in turn made my guage work (didn't work right at all before) so I am thinking it is a problem with one of my ground wires. I am using a single wire bosch o2 sensor with the gauge signal spliced into the factory wiring. Any thougnts? Thanks.

Ps, I know splicing isn't the best, but it works and my connections are good (just checked).

Just in case anyone is interested I found out what was causing the problem. Last night I only checked the connections I made to hook up the A/F guage. A previous owner had crimped onto the factory O2 wire and either didn't realize It was shielded, or was just dumb enough to crimp onto the shielding (double insulated wire) so the ECU wasn't getting signal from the O2.

I am not really sure why it was acting the way it was, but I fixed this bad connection and the guage works properly all the time now.
