Odd flywheel situation, give me piece of mind.
Odd flywheel situation, give me piece of mind.
Okay I ordered a racing beat #14 steel flywheel, I was just looking at it and, This is what I see.
Mazda OEM #'s on the box of the counter weight. I have no way to look these numbers up and see if it is even the correct box. But I was under the impression that the counterweight is dependant on the flywheel? Is that correct ot no? a 14# flywheel is NOT the stock setup... why would I get a OEM counter weight? It is clearly marked by racingbeat to be for a 86-88, and I am putting it in a 88 10AE. so that looks okay .. but is it the right one for non stock #14 flywheel?
Save my nites sleep .. please

The counterweight is MATCHED to the series of engine ie its ROTOR weight (OFFSET BOB). The after market flywheels are "zero balanced" Basically all RB has sold you is the stock Automatic transmission counterweight.
I have the same set-up, the counterweight has been modified by RacingBeat I think. If you look at it you can see the machining. Also the weight of the flywheel does not play a part in the certain counterweight you get.
