O2sensor with safc question

if i install a wideband to tune the safc myself, does it matter where the location of my o2 sensor is? i ask cuz for the most part, the sensors are located in the headers, but whoever owned my fc before changed the headers and put the sensor halfway to the muffler. would that affect the rich/lean readings?

you'll want to keep the O2 probe within a foot or so of the exhaust port........dunno if the readings would change where its current location is, but Ive never seen anyone mount one down there so I can't imagine that location could be beneficial in any way.....

A wideband should be located away from the heat of the exaust manifold area. I've had a wideband located everywhere from one foot below the downpipe to locating it just prior to hte left rear muffler and noticed no difference.

ive heard the only difference is about 100rpm. So it might lag a little but you will prob never tune that accurate anyway.

alot of people recomend putting it at the end of your down pipe for heat reasons... if you want the sensors to last longer....

or to swap out the sensor when your done tuning.... rotary breath likes to burn up sensors fairly faster then most cars.....
