Voltage goes FROM the 02 sensor TO the ECU. See http://www.howstuffworks.com/question257.htm and bookmark the HOW STUFF WORKS url.

OR....warm up the engine, disconnect the relief solenoid valve connector (blue on the left side of the engine), pull the connector apart on the 02 sensor, put your meter on it with the setting on dc volts and the lowest reading (looking for less than one volt) and watch the reading while reving the engine. Probably going to read around .8v at idle with the relief solenoid disabled (less than that with the relief valve enabled, like zero or minus some screwy figure). Should vary when reving the engine. EDIT: Oh fudge. No smog pump. Then about .8v at idle. Go for a drive while monitoring the meter. Full throttle b/t .7 and .8volts. Cruising in fifth should be jumping around on either side of approx .4v, wildly and seemingly erratic, but on close observation it'll be jumping back and forth on either side of .4v You can also monitor from pin 2D on the ECU. Middle plug. Counting from the right to the left, the second pin on the bottom on the plug. Thats with the 02 sensor hooked up to all wiring.

man, hailers your the man, when it comes to wiring... thanks!

i got that coil thing figured out, it was the coil! the guy(previous owner) had hooked up the service plug(little black wire hanging by the connector) to a ground so everytime i plugged another in, it would die....

gonna try to hook up my o2 sensor tomorrow...

thanks
