NU B? about leaky fuel injectors...
Hi there,
My litl brother is looking at a 88' GTU that is REALLY nice
but when first started up today the owner claimed before starting that it has a "leaky" injector. And it smoked quite a bit and then was gone after 30seconds of running. Is this logical, because I Dont know much about the rotory engine, since I am a honda guy
I know that the newer RX7 had apex seals that could leak, could this be possible at all?
Also, is there a know site that I could use to get the basics of the rotory engine and what engines are avail
for these cars and what the tuning capabilites are?
Thanks.

Not very many detailed pages on what engines are available, and the apex seals don't 'leak' on the newer cars. Basically, the leaky injectors can cause some black smoke upon start-up if they're bad enough, but if it's white/bluish then it's either blowing coolant or oil, which is generally a sign of either 1) bad coolant seals, or 2) bad oil seals, if it's just the injectors (black smoke) then it can be as easy as a bottle of injector cleaner, or a little more difficult and requiring them to be sent out or taken to a shop that can clean them.
