Nothing works when I turn the key...

I just finished installing a new turbo, new exhaust and I also removed the rats nest, vac. spider, OMP setup and A/C. I also took the time to clean the engine grounds and replace any of the remaining vac. lines. Well, after getting everything reinstalled and put back together--I went to start the car and upon turning the key, nothing happened... My first thought was "Main fuse", but it looked fine and in good health. Regardless, I replaced it and still nothing happened. The headlights etc. work, but there is no 'beeping' for the door being open etc.

I have my autometer gauges tapped into my ignition, so when the key is turned to the ON or acc. position, they are supposed to come on. Well, they don't. Also, there is no "click" from my starter. Pretty much nothing happens.

Any suggestions? I'm a little bit tired and dirty after wrenching all day, and I'm a little slow right now.

Did you check the in-car "engine" fuse?

Better yet, did you check your battery/cables to make sure you put them back on securely and correctly? I've never done anything like that... yea right. haha

Check the Room fuse in the fuse box inside the car. You may have more than one problem, but the Room fuse protects some of the things that you indicate are not working.

If NOTHING happens when the ignition switch is put to start........then you've accidentally pulled apart the feed wire for the ignition switch. Either the connector just below the engine fuse box OR at the ignition switch connector. At the ignition switch connector it would be the two wire one with a pure black wire and a black/white wire. The pure black feeds 12v to the ignition switch.

Other things should work in the car. Like the headlights. Things that are not related to the ignition circuit.

If nothing works, I'd say you left the battery cable off or the Main fuse is kaput.

Winner!

I got home from work today with about 1/2 hour of daylight left and decided to just give the engine bay a good once over to 'see what I could see'... Well, I was fiddling around with the battery cables when lo' and behold I saw a thin black wire, with a long black clip at the end--and just below it was another thin black wire with a clip on the end... "Hmmmm..." I thought to myself, "I wonder what happens when you plug these two together". Well, wouldn't you know, my wipers started wiping and my door started beeping! LOL

My car fired right up. I'm a little bit bugged and like this -----> Just because I never touched the connection and I must've yanked on something, causing it to seperate. Just kind of annoying, lol.

Thanks for the resonses guys. Case closed.
