not your usual BAC questions+stud, need help

Okay first part is I have an S5 J-Spec block and intake but S4 BACV from stock engine. With the flange off I notice the idle adjust screw goes to flat metal (no wonder it wasn't adjusting) so I looked at the old block and there is a channel that goes to the big hole for the bypassed air out to the scew. No clue how that works but will not having that mess me up, do I need to find the BACV that came with the block?

Part 2 (Most Important). Noticed a screeching sound and it ended up coming from the BACV to intake, so I tried to tightent the nuts as one was loose. It was still leaking (gasket is fairly new) and I ended up breaking the bottom stud. What now?

If it isn't broken off flat with the intake, you may be able to get a small pipe wrench or a pair of vicecrips on it and unscreew it, other wise you will have to drill it out, and use an easy out. Also I believe that sears sell some niffty tools, that are much easier than driling out the stud.

Alright, so then it is screwed in and not pressed in. Thanks. To loosen I would turn counter clockwise still right? Studs are not reverse threads if I can remember correctly. Damn 1/2" drive ratchet, need to find my smaller set, also broke a bolt putting the new RB exhaust on. Go figure not like I'm that strong or anything, Leverage is much more efficient then I thought sometimes.

Yeah it still screw out counter clockwise. And I don't believe that it is made into the intake, most of the studs that are on the engine are... well... studs.

Thanks a bunch, got it out with vise grips (no clue why it came out so easily) and got a replacement off the old engine using 2 nuts and a little heat from a torch on lowest possible setting. Anyway, its back on with some gasket material also (loctite blue). 24 hour curing time and don't wanna suck some rtv into the intake so I hope she's fixed in the mornin.

Idles like a champ now, only thing now is the smoke at startup. Think its running rich (no cats to clean either) but thats another issue. Thanks for the help. Now she's running good enough to go get everything adjusted including the fuel controller.
