Not getting fuel?

My 10th Ann TII recently developed flooding problems, so I hooked up a fuel cut switch a few months back. It worked fine, until just a couple days ago. I hadn't driven it in about 2 months. I got in, turned it on, and drove it to the parts store with no problems. I got back into the car, kicked the ground wire loose on the fuel cut switch, and tried to start it. It obviously wasn't getting fuel, so it didn't start. I tried it for about 2 minutes, flipping the now useless switch on and off, thinking it was flooded. Then I realized what happened. So I hooked up the wire again, tried starting it, and it still wouldn't work. I thought perhaps the switch was blown, so I just disconnected the switch, and wired the line straight together. Still nothing.

I checked the fuses, and they're all good.

I'm pretty sure I'm not getting fuel. It's not starting. It is cranking strong. I can't figure out what it is. Any ideas? Thanks. Buttseck to anyone who helps fix my baby, and keeps me from towing costs.

Gross, then you didn't hear me suggest making sure you know when the switch is on and when it's off... I have a fuel cut switch, too, and the way I had it hooked up before I had to remember which way was closed (granted, it was pretty stationary so it wasn't that hard, but if I'd been fiddling with it in the garage for testing I might leave it open and forget later).

Also, have you checked your compression? Low compression can create a flooding ailment.

well if you had the wires disc. then it already acts as the switch. so as long as you have the right wires reconnected then the fuel pump should be shipshape. it should how ever only be ONE wire that was cut. There is also a chance you may a victim of circumstance. you do all the antiflood procedures? there is always that off chance that you tried starting it with the switch on turned the car off then ended up flooding it since. and if you don't unflood it, it wont necessarily start just from sitting. yout have to UNFLOOD the car. the fuel just sits there if you don't. but correct me if im wrong in this assumption

but, check the plugs, wires, connections and grounds. and make sure if you even TOUCHED the engine, you undid everything you done ya hear?

oh, one more thing, if you want to check to see if you pump is getting juice, there is a connector on the pas. side of the bay. its in the emissions harness i think, and its green? its kinda hidden so you have to look for it. but just connect your battery, and bridge that connector and your pump should start whining like my ex.

I know which way means on and which means off on my switch.

Really, the only thing I haven't tried that's been suggested is checking the compression, which was fine around 6 months ago, and I haven't done anything drastic since.

I also haven't checked the fuel pump, but I guess I can check that. I think I know what green connector you're talking about, but I'm not sure how to actually hook it up to the battery.

Anything else?

Anyone else have any ideas or directions for a wiring noob on how to test the fuel pump?
