Noob needs help 88 ragtop odds and ends
I recently purchased an 88 RX-7 ragtop with 76,000 miles on it from a friend in Phoenix. It has been well maintained and is very good shape. I am trying to take care of those little things he le slide. I have the shop manual and have already replaced the clutch, but I need some help from other owners. My issues are as follows:
Oil pressure reading: On starting sometimes the oil pressure goes right up to operating pressure then it drops off and comes back up after running awhile. Sometimes it doesn’t move until it warms up. I am using the correct oil for the temperature in Houston and the engine runs fine. Flaky sender?
Windshield wiper switch: I have one speed, no slow, one touch or intermittent. Trouble shot according to the manual and the culprit is the switch in the dash. The replacement price at the dealer of $350 gave me a heart attack. Can this switch cluster be opened and repaired or do I have to bite the bullet and buy one? If so, any cheaper sources?
Headrest speakers: He had an aftermarket radio and amp put in and they disconnected the door amp and the headrest amp. How do I reconnect just the headrest amp? When I pulled the radio I saw a 7 pin connector that had been unplugged. I assume this is it. Can anyone tell me what pin does what on this plug, or is there a way to hook into the amp behind the drivers seat?
Dash lights: The dash lights go dim and then brighten for not particular reason. It is intermittent and I have not tried to trouble shoot this yet. It sometimes brightens when the engine is revved a bit. Alternator works fine. Suggestions?
Weather stripping: Rains a lot more in Houston than in Phoenix and I’m getting rain inside. Anyone have a good source for the rigid portion of the roof at the windows and around the trunk or do I have to pay stealer prices?
Odds and ends: I’m also looking for the left vent that directs air onto the drivers window (gray) and a power button for the headrest amp.
I appreciate whatever help/advice you can give.

for the oil pressure reading unit, on my 88 gxl the sensor was very dirty and covered in oil and had symptoms like yours, i just pulled it off and cleaned it with some brake & electrical cleaner and the problems went away with that, its located around the oil filter , mine also has the same problem but it doesnt bother me, i would just wait around and pull one from a scrap yard if your paitent
