non turbo needs more power

i have a 86 Rx-7, i want to add more power to it but i dont have the slightest clue on what to do first.

Heres what it already has

Stock everything except it has the S5 fan thing in the engine bay
(its that big white thing)
i also need to buy new mufflers and a y-pipe

Please be specific on what should i do

This would be the first clue: "i also need to buy new mufflers and a y-pipe". This is also called a "catback" exhaust because it includes the exhaust components from the catalytic converter onward.

do yourself a favor. Decide how much you want to spend to get the power numbers you want. That might convince you to start with a t2 instead of a NA right from the get go.

If you can't have forced induction, the next best thing is porting. If you can't have porting, the next best thing is exhaust. Intake would be next, then slightly advance the ignition timing from stock settings, get an S-AFC or lighter wheels, do some weight reduction.

I love this question because it is so easy to answer.
