Non turbo fuel pump in turbo II swap

Like the title says, I'm in the process of swapping in the turbo II motor and trans we have into the GTU. Everything else has been replaced (pressure sensor, N370 ecu, etc etc.) The main part I'm waiting on is the turbo II fuel pump. The car and motor are series five.

My question is, in terms of simply starting the car and letting it idle, will the NA fuel pump suffice? Obviously I'm not going to be driving it hard or under boost. But will simply letting the engine idle, a few neutral revs to ensure everything sounds okay, and driving the car to a different location in my driveway be safe?

Provided you are not going to actually drive the car, at idle it will be fine. Even moving around the block should be fine, just don't go throttling into boost.

I don't know why you can't wait for the proper pump, but it will start the car (provided the pump was working before). The only time the volume of a pump becomes suspect is under load. At idle, there is not enough fuel demand to max out the pump.

Honestly, there is no real danger in using the pump at idle or at free revs. The pump volume should be fine. I just hate getting my hands covered in gas (even with gloves) so I would wait and just do it once.
