Noise coming from the clutch
This started happening on Saturday. I was taking my room mate to pick up her car and thought I ran over something and when I looked back it appeared to be a cable (possibly an e-brake cable, and I'm only thinking that because mine stopped working a couple of months ago).
Anyway, as I was going down the road I could hear a faint "whirring" sound. I got home and searched here and found that it could be my throw out bearing, but I want to see what you guys might think.
It only makes the sound in R, 1,2, and 3rd. It's completely non-existent in 4th and 5th. It only makes the sound when the pedal is out; when I push in the pedal it stops.
Shifting is still as smooth as ever with no slipping, grinding, or unwanted dis-engagement of gears.
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated so I know what I'm getting into and how much it will be to fix.
Thanks guys!
