no trailing spark? help me fix this damn car!

ok here are the things ive been dealing with for the past week. clutch goes, replaced with act hd/6puck. primary injector gommets leaking. replaced. lower intake manifold cracks when reinstalling upper intake manifold, replaced. s5 turbo hits the shitty, replaced with wastegate ported old s4 turbo. fuel filter change. ok after all that got the car put back together, wont start. crap! after some fiddling car starts but runs like crap. misses and floods everytime i turn the engine off. never had a flooding problem before so dont think its an injector problem. so i reset the CAS using FSM. throw the timing light on and set primary timing. and hook her up to the trailing number 1 wire, no light. no matter what i do no light. could my problem be a bad ground to the trailing coil? or bad trailing coil itself? would that explain the flooding and bad performance? like the trailing isnt combusting the remaining fuel? please help me end my misery. and sorry for the long post. im starting to get fed up with this car. help me keep it!

tom.

is there a way to test for strong spark? i think a weak spark is one of my problems. maybe on the leading AND trailing. i mean how can i test not only if its sparking but if its an adequate spark

There are trailing coil test procedures in the Haynes manual.

To test for spark, simply use a spark tester.

The car will run fine on leadings only. Is it possible you mixed up the spark plug wires?

Does your tach work?

Like the man said, the tach will not be working if the Trail coil is not firing. You did not mention the tach not working, so we assume there might be something amiss in your timing light procedures?

Wanna look at spark? Remove the CAS but leave the wire harness connected to it. Place the spark plug wires on the fender. Turn the key to ON. Spin the cas gear. See spark, pop, crackle.
