is no tps a problem?

ok ive been having a jumpy idle problem for a while and also the car bucks sometimes at low rpms.
i have adjusted the tps many times but when it is adjusted to the correct setting the car will not hold an idle at all. so then i changed the tps to a new one but it has the exact same problem.
so when i unplug the tps all together the jumpy idle stops and it has zero problems holding an idle. so my question is: is there any major problems with running the car with the tps unplugged?

i guess another way to put the question is. what does the tps actually do for the car? i know that it reads the position of the throttle and sends that info to the computer but what does the computer do with that information? does the throttle position signal control anything vital to the car running properly?

it controls fuel trim for low-mid throttle operation.

you probably aren't adjusting it properly, or there is a problem with one of the cars other systems.

Have you adjusted your idle and idle mixture after setting the TPS?

i think that the BAC needs to be serviced. is it steadily climbing to about 3k and then dropping? there might be a vacuum leak. if it is only climbing to about 1500 or less, disregard this.
