my 90 gxl has ran great up to this point. just put a quart of oil and put some gas in it, and i tried to crank it and all i get is the starter relay clicking. i can hear it click and thats it. i need to get this car up and running again. could this be signs of carbon lock? i would redline it but its been hesitant to reach redline cuz i have a problem with it stopping at 6k. rx7 gurus really need ur help on this one guys. appreciate it.

 

Try turning the key only part way forward, and see if it turns over. My car occasionally doesn't want to start if the key is turned all the way forward, but I can get to crank if I just hold back a little. The issue, as far as I can tell, is corrosion in the ignition switch. Worth a try if you haven't already done it.

 

that'll be at the start of my list for 2marrow. oh for anyone who asks, i have new plugs, underhood fuses, battery and alt.

ok heres an update. i got it started, drove around for a lil bit. decided to get on the highway to give her a good pull, i shift to fourth. my clutch gets stuck, i pull off to the side of the road and same thing. no engine response when i try to start it and now..i don't have 1st and 2nd, all the other gears are difficult to get into. so now what?
