No power to the fuel pump

So I was driving my 88 T2 around and it started having trouble idling. I parked it, left it for a bit, and when I came back, no power to fuel pump.

Before I go into what I've checked, I wanted to get a few things about the fuel system explained:

I looked through the wiring diagram for the fuel pump, and from what I gather, the power from the battery AND the ~9v from the resistor are wired to the pump, and the relay next to the resistor is normally closed, but when opened(by the ECU) it disconnects the direct power, leaving only the ~9v running to the fuel pump. Is this correct?

Power should go from the relay under the dash, to the relay/resistor in the engine bay, then directly to the fuel pump, correct?

I've checked the voltage at the pump, of course, and no power at all. I tested the relay and the resistor, and both seem to be working outside of the car.

I checked the pins, at the relay/resistor connector and have no power except but if I open the MAF flap, I can hear the resistor under the dash click and I have 12v at the load and trigger wire for the relay, at the connector.

I tried just bridging the two wires that the relay would normally close, essentially bypassing that relay, and I get 12v at the fuel pump, even with the flap closed(no idea how).

I wasn't able to try starting it because I swapped in another fuel pump that is actually bad, but the pump I took out tested good outside of the car.

My latest issue I've run into is that after doing all of this, the lights on the idiot cluster have gone out, which were on when I started messing with it, and now I have no power to the fuel pump.

I'm trying to figure out where I should go next before just running a wire directly from the battery to the fuel pump. Any suggestions?

At the Circuit Opening Relay the wire in the top row far left position should have voltage w/key to on. Does it? This wire is powered by the 15 amp Engine fuse. The wire next to it has voltage w/key to start. Does it? The bottom row far left wire is solid Black. It is a ground. Does it test out as a ground? You can use this wire as the ground source when testing for voltage of a known wire that has voltage. If the first wire has voltage w/key to on then use the Black ground wire as the meter ground and test again for voltage on the upper left wire w/key to on. If it again tests for voltage then the Black wire is properly grounded. W/key to start the voltage from the upper left wire runs to the Blue wire in the relay if the relay is working properly.
