No idle and dying under 3k RPM

Hi there,

So recently, my 1986 RX-7 has been giving me problems. It will die if it goes anywhere under 3k rpms and just flat out not idle. About a month ago, I was under the car and when I moved a wire connected to the starter, i noticed it sparked. I didn't think much about it and just tightened the bolt. After this though, I couldn't get it to idle! That was when it first started happening. Then, about two weeks ago, I changed my clutch in my garage and upon putting the transmission back in, I went to start it and it just will not go anywhere under 3k rpms. I do not have my exhaust on right now and I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Anywhere above 3k runs completely fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

There are only two wires connected to the starter and neither has anything to do with idle or regular engine operation, so chalk that up to coincidence.
The most common cause of your issue would be a vacuum leak.

I have noticed 1 or two vacuum lines have been broken, so my question is: how much leakage is too much?

Haha. Yeah one disconnected vacuum line and you don't idle man. That was funny though. Definitely sounds like vacuum.
