No fuel from secondarys when cold
Hey guys,
My 88 n/a has an issue when cold, the first time I bring the rpms past 3800 it hits a brick wall. I don't know for sure that its the secondary's but it happens at the right time for it.
It will do this almost every cold start the first time I rev past 3800. Its almost like there is no fuel in the secondary rail; i know this cant be the case because they are routed in sequence.
Just for the record, I do not beat the car when its cold, But I do know it is not supposed to do this.
The car doesn't have aux port actuators, they are wired open; it does not have secondary throttle plates, the throttle body was modded during my s4-s5 swap. Aside from this it runs perfectly, I have replaced the water thermo switch just for the record.
Any thoughts?

No this isnt the 3800 hesitation everyone else has its a solid wall you cannot wait out, you have to bring the rpms back down. But after that one time it will rev perfectly fine every time with no hesitation.
If there's fuel in the primary fuel rail, there's fuel in the secondary fuel rail. You already stated that, but it's completely out of the question. The issue is that the secondary injectors are not firing at that time. The 3800 rpm hesitation is the same issue you're having, except a lot more pronounced. Now instead of having a hesitation, they're just not working. It's the same fix.
The S4 TPS only reads approximately the first 25% of throttle movement. Wouldn't cause a 3800 rpm stall.
A vacuum leak would probably lead to a bad idle, but not a wall at 3800 rpm.

it just seems odd that i would never have this issue after the first instance. my understanding was that the 3800 rpm hesitation was a constant hesistation nearly every time you passed 3800 reguardless of temp or running time
Ground! got the same symptoms. Followed Aaron's homepage regarding ground. I thought mine was fine since everything is clean after I rebuilt my engine. It needs to be sanded making sure it's bright and clean, make sure to apply "dielectric grease" upon putting them back together. I spent countless time tinkering with my injectors, auxillary ports, ecu, cas, tps, VR, coil etc. I was too stubborn and lazy to remove my dynamic chamber because I have an S4 NA. Once I sanded it and added another wire from that existing ground going to the shock tower ground, to my surprise even my pineapple port inserts started working to my delight. I hope this helps. Happy New Year.
