No fuel pump power

So yesterday I was leaving an all day event from school when my car just stopped.

I tried cranking it again and it started for a second and then quit again. To make a long story short I ended up getting towed home and while I was waiting, I did some tests with what I had. I found out that for some reason the fuel pump isn't getting power.

I checked fuses in the engine bay and in the interior and they looked fine, but that was yesterday when it was dark. I will check them again to make sure, but is there any fuse that has to do with the fuel pump? I did a search and I saw something about how the engine fuse has something to do with that. Is that true?

If the fuses are not the cause what else could it be? I checked the fuel relay under the dash with an multimeter last night and its within spec. I also tried to jump the fuel pump with that little yellow harness plug on the shock tower, but thats how I found out how the fuel pump didn't turn on.

So in a few hours I am going to use a test light to find out whats not getting power and try to figure out what to do from there. Any suggestions on what else I should check?

The car is a s4 n/a '88 vert.

ok i was messing around and i tapped the top of the fuel pump and it came back on. and then the car started. turned it off. then i turn the ignition on to see if the pump got power again and it did. the harness is fine.

the problem seemed to be with the pump not pumping. the pump is not even two years old. what does this mean? is it a faulty pump? im letting the battery charge right now and i'll see if the pump turns back on.

stupid pump.
