no buzzers from cpu

just had a few quick questions about the cpu on an S4 TII. none of the reminder buzzers work on my 10AE. the key in the ignition reminder, the left your lights on reminder, low coolant buzzer, nothing. what could cause this?

The fact that your car is around 18 years old! :P Solder joints are probably worn, or needs to be replaced Thats my guess

I think that moisture and corrostion play a big factor as well. I remember once with my older FC i left it inside at a garage with a heater in the car all day and everything worked great when it was super dry! Then when i took it outside after a few days all the buzzers and beepers stopped working. I would recommend taking the CPU out (drivers side kick panel) And opening it up, see what everything looks like, any green corrosion? Solder joints look like they need to be re touched?

Cold or failed solder joints are common on all modern cars. The SA is hardly modern.

Some of my most common electronics rebuilds are for solder joints in 5-10 year old BMWs and Lexus cars.

well, i guess it would be in my best interest to pull the cpu and open it up and give it a good look. and Mark, i replaced my logicon lights with the bulbs you suggested from radioshack. works like a charm now
