a newbie with rx7

I need some help with my 87 rx7. the back rotor doesn't give off the same as the front rotor. I took it to a place that deals specifically with rx7s and they told me that i needed a new engine. Some things i still need to know about my car such as the fact i have to turn it on everyday or else i have to push start it. i don't know whether its engine related or not.

fine someone locally that has a compression tester, and test it out. if its crap have the engine rebuilt, new 13b's are pricey rebuilds done right will run like brand new.

So your rear rotor has low compression??? If so, then the engine needs rebuilt.

Word- JDM motors are a crapshoot. Sometimes you get lucky, other times you get screwed.

your easiest choice for a turbo swap would be a S4/S5 motor. '93+ (FD or S6) is a different beast, it's more pricey and much more difficult. Someone was working on a kit in the 4k+ range w/o motor IIRC.

Edit: and it's not worth it. IMHO

Please read more about whats involved with a turbo swap. Theres alot more to it than just swapping the motor itself. You called yourself a noob so I just want you to know what you are getting into, there is alot of info on this site.
