You don't need one.
Slap the idiot who told you you needed one.

Hi man,

You don't "need" one..... A BOV install and whether or not you "need" one is always up in the air, tons of people will say you do, tons will say you do not. My personal opinion is that you dont need one.

I think this kinda mod is really just a personal thing. Proof for both yes and no exist as to which one is the right way to go.

congrats on the s5, in anycase.

If you get a BOV, get a recirculatory...not an atmospheric...

But, like every one said...you don't need an aftermarket BOV...

i heard bov's make sure that no backpressure go back to the turbo cuz if all the air isn't released or something it can make the turbo to either stop spooling or even worse spin the opposite way. well that's what i've heard not from experience tho.

You're right, blow off valves do that, and so does the stock Air Bypass Valve, which is why you don't need to buy an aftermarket blow off valve. There are some people who argue no blow off valve of any sort is necessary, but that's not really what we're talking about hear. the stock blow off valve will suit the original poster's needs.

Only time you really have any need for an aftermarket BOV is when you start surpassing 10psi.
