Smile Newbe

Greetings everyone. My name is Kenn and I am new to the site. Well, not really. My buddy is Noel Caraballo who is on here but I decided to join since I pick up my new rx7 this saturday (Aug. 9th 2003). I was at the rx7 meet in Independence, OHIO at Quacker Stake. Anyways... I own an 1987 GXL RXseven and yes I know it's non-turbo. Only thing wrong with my new rx7 is the low coolant light comes on but there is coolant in it. My guess is a leaky hose or something. Oh well... I got it for dirt cheap and with a rebuilt engine and new paint job so I can't go wrong. When I get it I'll make sure to post pics. Peace ya'll Kenn O. Cleveland, OHIO

Thumbs up

Welcome and good luck!

I think you'll find some good information on troubleshooting your cooling system on this site.

It was very useful to me. I have an 87 GXL also. It's getting a new radiator now.

Is it common for second gens to have something wrong with the coolant because my first ride was an 87 gxl and it had coolant problems as well?

It's all just a side effect of cheap engineering. Not to mention our cars are getting on in years, and things tend to deteriorate after time.
