new whats up?i have some ?'s
whats up everyone,
>i own an '87 non-turbo blue rex, and im kind of a first time rex owner and i think i have some knowlege when it comes to the rex, but not as much as i wished.
>anyway i have some ?'s concerning a swap between a '89 engine into an '87 body. I just wanted to know how this would work out or if it would work at all. if anyone has any info for me that would be great!
>oh, and if anyone has any links to a site with info dealing with this subject, those links would be great.
>if you have anything for me please email me at:

Well, The search button on the top right will yield a lot of good threads.
Now from what I know it will be a major pain to swap.
After 88 they changed a lot of things.
No longer mechanical Oil metering pump-went to electrical controlled by ecu
Different weight rotors I think.
Different top manifold and afm
You would need to get the whole engine long block
The right ECU
Complete engine and interior harness
Gauge cluster
That's a quick list but that's the main things which don't work with each other.
It would be possible to do but it would almost cost the same as getting a Turbo series 4 engine in your car.

yeah the newer model rotors are actually alittle lighter, and alittle bigger i beleive. because of this it makes them alittle better. i remember posting a smilar thread alittle earlier.. so yeah like he said run a search. lots of feedback from that topic, it's a popular swap. but most everything bolts right up.
