new water temp gauge

So I got a new aftermarket water temp gauge and I'm not sure where I screw in my little sensor plug thing to my engine, its a stock S5 13b. I. Didn't have to much time to poke around, but I didn't see anything to obvious. Info and any other usefull tips welcome. Thank you.

you could tap(split the hose ) into the upper rad hose with a bung welded on to insert the gauge a short piece of pipe and splice in with two claps, or purchase a after market thermostat alum cover pipe(89-90) and install it there

You could put it where the stock sensor goes...near the oil pressure sending unit.

thanks for all the of fast replies and good info. i couldnt tell if it would fit in the spot where the stock one is or not. id rather get some good advise instead of threading it in somewhere it wont fit or work. i just want the easiest way to do this that will last. sounds like the stock spot is the way to go, anything i need to do or be aware of? this is my first time every messing with gauges

what brand of gauge is it?
I always thought the FC had a funky metric thread that most aftermarket gauges would not thread into

its the IEquus 8200 2" performance triple gauge kit, it comes with the water temp. oil pressure, and volts gauges. im installing them above my AC controls in that big vent space. like i said i have never messed with gauges or anything before besides a tach. so im not sure if i got to go buy a certain adapter or if the ones that came with the kit will work. ill let you guys know how this product works out if i ever figure out where i should hook up the sensor lol

The FC is a weird British thread that turns out to be 1/8-28, most aftermarket sensors are 1/8-27.
I just threaded the new sensor in and it's been fine for over 4 years.
YMMV.
