New turbo motor

Hello,

I bought a used japan turbo motor that has a knight sport turbo on it. I was wondering if any body knows any thing about that turbo set up. And I know that I can`t use the mass air flow. So when I get the motor I will have to check to see if it has a map sensor on it. But what I don`t under stand it looks like in the picture of the motor that I got it has the factory ECU. Does anybody know about this?

Thanks

if it has a stock ecu you have to use the maf. the knight sports turbos are just hybrids, similar to BNR turbos. you probably wont be able to use the jdm ecu either. hopefully the motor isn't blown.

MAF = AFM = air flow meter, but MAP = boost sensor. I doubt you will get either one with the motor unless they mention it specifically. If it's a S4 motor, the ecu you get should work for you. It seems a lot of S5 ECUs have compatibility issues.

Also, the fact that the motor has a hybrid turbo on it means you need to check out the injectors. You should get the professionally flowed and cleaned anyway, but this will also tell you what size they are if they're non-stock. Of course, if it has four stock 550cc injectors, and that turbo, the motor is probably blown .

new turbo motor

Hello,

I had them run a compression test on the motor before I bought it, it has great compression. Also if any thing goes wrong with the motor I have 30 days on the it. Thanks for the info.
