I don't really see that you will make any gain in anything. In all actuality, you will probably compromise with where you started.. Longer spool + less heat, or Shorter spool + more heat, but chances are that both effects will be so minor that you probably won't see an increase whatsoever. I don't see the justification for a custom manifold for a stock upgraded turbo. Personally i wouldn't put out the effort to do such a peice unless it was intended for an aftermarket turbo. Have you thought of maybe getting a turbo blanket to solve heat soak issues?

No offense intended.

Forgot to add;

The possibly only advantage to this manifold, would to have the ability to eliminate the stock wastegate, and plumb an aftermarket external wastegate to eliminate creep.

I was thinking of making a manifold extension like Aaron did (to clear the 6pi manfiold. But it would move the turbo out a little further and allow me to have a external wastegate (would be using stock hot side with a to4 wheel/center section/and compressor). So pretty much everyone is saying that is a waste of time and one should just go with a full to4 turbo?

It is a little different. But hey, nice to see somebody do something different for once. EVen if it might not provide gains. But who knows

If he has the skill/time/supplies....glad to see somebody do something outside of convention.

Most T04's with aftermarket manifolds STILL won't clear the 6port intakes. This is where custom intake manifolds come in useful.
