New to T2, not rotary

Ok guys I just bought an 88 s4 turbo 2 and I have a few questions. It was rebuilt about 20K miles ago by Rotary Power down in LA and it is a nice car, but the owner told me she had it de-tuned to run 86 octane gas. I am wondering if this is what they installed in the car to de-tune it?

Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Here are some other pics of the car.

Damn Dude, did you include the one you bought off Trainwreck? You must make a shitload of dough to own/maintain this many rotaries.

lol....

quite the opposite, it is to allow the engine to run higher than stock boost without fuel cut. not exactly a detune i would say!

the only detune i could think of would be retarding the timing with the crank angle sensor or richening up the fuel a tiny bit but really, a stock T2 can handle 87 octane just fine..
