i just got an 87 t2, the bodys in good shape except for one dent. theres an electrical problem i think its a bad ground some where. the engine turns over but it wont start. i removed the spark plugs to check for spark and im getting a good spark but i noticed the engine turns over a lot faster with out the top sparkplugs in, which makes since cause there isnt any compression, but my question is how much current sould the starter draw when im cranking over the engine mine is drawing a little over 300 amps, and i thought that seemed a little high. also how fast should the starter turn the engine when its starting

ive already checked the fuel system, and its working properly

Try the de-flood process, check the coil packs, spark plugs and wires, all grounds like you said, battery, alternator, starter, injectors.

the problem isnt that it turns over fast, it turns over real slow when the spark plugs are in

So, do you actually have fuel entering the chambers? If you pull the plugs, are they wet?

If so, then it sounds like the engine is flooded. Perform the standard unflooding procedure.

If you aren't getting any fuel into the engine you need to start troubleshooting. Check the injector connectors for 12V at the black/yellow wire when the key is set to "RUN". Make sure the AFM is plugged in.

It's normal for the engine to spin very fast with the plugs removed. It can't make any compression when it's just blowing air through the plug holes.
