CO New seals?

ok, well i got a new engine and the oil smells like gas.

i did some research and came up with nothing besides some people mix gas with their oil cuz the rotaries burn oil..

its a jdm 13b TII motor if anyone needs that info.

anyway, what causes this? do i need new apex seals or just a plain ol rebuild?

thanks a lot for anyone who helps..

Two things:

Worn side seals/improper end clearance to corner seals/worn side plates

Overly rich mixture

The rotary will geta little oil in the gas given that it runs quite rich at least in stock form, but if this is an un-rebuilt JDM engine, I would lay my money on engine parts being worn/stuck or improperly clearanced.

ya, im sure the thing was driven hard. it came with a blitz BOV, so it was atleast feebly modded..

so would u consider a full rebuild? i havent put the engine in yet and i wanted to pull it down to a bare keg anyway, so i guess ill just tear into it and see what ive got..

thanks for the help..

a BOV doesnt mean it mas modded or driven hard as it does NOTHING for performance...

get the compression tested, but if it starts well cold and hot, it should be fine.
i bet its just running rich

i am working on rounding up a compression gauge and getting the compression tested...
