Hi, is it true that redlining will clean carbon deposits? I searched around and a lot of people say yes, but my engine as 200,000 miles so I want to make sure. And if you guys have any tips about rotaries please point them out. Thanks.

 

Yes the engines do enjoy the occasional redline. The only tip I have, is that your gonna be breaking out your wallet pretty soon.

 

with 200k you'll probly have to rebuild soon. Just take care of it and make sure you have oil and coolant. Then start saving up about 1500 for a rebuild, that way when the engine pops you wont be sad

 

The RX-7 enjoys the red line once a day as other people say! Don't keep doing it on that much of a mileage, you're going to pop some seals.

 

The awnser is simple, all cars like to redline once in a while, especially rotaries. It will prevent carbon deposits but if the car was babied for a long time and you try to redline it you will most likely blow the engine.
