New rx7 turbo owner - maf help

Just bought my first rx7, a 87 turbo II. it is missing the whole intake assembly (air box, plumbing, maf, everything before the turbo) I'm mostly concerned about the Maf. Do I need to buy new one? Or is there some sort of maf Delete option?

If stock ecu then yes you need maf and I'm pretty sure even with a standalone you would need one.

You can find them on the classifieds section for fairly cheap.

If you run a stock ECU then you need a AFM.
If you go to say a Haltech then NO,you can delete the AFM.

I am stock, but plan on doing Rtek. Because I am on a pretty limited budget.

In addition to the usual internet sites, be sure to check out the Classifieds section on this website:
2nd Generation RX-7 (1986-1992) Parts - RX7Club.com

What you want is an airflow meter (AFM) for a 1987-1988 (Series 4) RX-7 Turbo II. The non-turbo (NA) and 1989-1992 (Series 5) AFMs will not work quite right.

If you can't find the other intake parts then you can just make your own out of tubing. Also, you can buy an AFM adapter so that a cone filter or round tube will attach to it.
