holy ****. i thought you meant minor fender bender thing. that thing is now a parts car. find you a cheap shell and drop the engine into it and salvage any parts you can off of it. going that route you might get off the hook only spending $2000 and alot of time. sorry about the car man. goes to show you can never be too careful. it bites you in the *** when you least expect it, so always be weary

if you want to learn to drive in the rain in RWD....

when it rains, VERY CAREFULLY drive to a big and empty piece of asphalt or concrete and no light poles

then have at it....

ahh i just had a terrible flashback of what my rx-7 looked like when someone ran the intersection...horrible, horrible day. get another rx-7. the sooner, the better. or else, this little thing in the back of your head, will grow into a huge thing, and you cant get it off your mind, and then all you do is obsess over another rx-7, until you -- oh sorry im getting carried away. sorry about the car. get another soon

ouch.

I don't think "it's a parts car" now though... I think if you have a parts car and some mechanical aptitude you can fix that, it's mostly a matter of replacing parts.

I'd be willing to bet that there is alot of frame damage under that, and that takes alot more than bolting on new parts to fix.

Ouch that sucks. My first time in the rain I spun out (actually was like the 4th time I think) mainly because I floored it on a soft turn. I figured i was going straight enough ha ha. Don't do that anymore. Anyway See if you have frame damage and go from there.

haha i remember when i was learning to drive, (i thought i could drift back then) i had a really nice s14 se that was pearl white (custom paint job). the car used to be my moms, and i got it for my 16th birthday. well when i was 17 i made a turbo kit using the cummins turbo, and anything else i could find. i bought some cheap *** ebay intercooler and made it work, used some fence piping for exhaust, and drove it like it was the bat mobile. i got it to 305 whp with cheap *** bolt ons, and a boost controller... then fast and the furious first came out. and for some reason i thought the message of the movie was that exotic imports arent worth their money, that if you put some tlc into your car you can wamp their ***. so one day after work i was driving on the freeway, and this carrera came out of nowhere. so i punched it, caught him, and tried to pass him. doing this wouldnt have been so stupid except we were on I15 at 1:30 in the morning, and it was pouring rain.
i was doing fine, then we started to approach 115mph. we went around a slight corner, and the rear end broke loose! i turned it into a drift for a second, then it went totally out of controll. i bashed the cement baracades on the west side of the road, then did a 540 across the road and bashed the one on the east side. then after another 180 i stopped in the middle of the road. (i was scared shitless) car was totaled, i realized i needed to take a professional driving course, and i grew the **** up and stopped playing in the rain.

thats fixable... The RX7 i bought was about that bad. The P.O. of mine bounced it of a concrete median and then UNDER a semi. I had to pull a few dents from the "frame" behind the pass. fender, but it was pretty easy. I just used a chain and an engine hoist to straighten it out. Then bought a fender, headlight assy. and a body kit. You CANNOT tell it was in an accident what so ever. Well, besides may be the fact the fender is in primer but...

if somebody didnt read what damage was done to the car, it sounds a hell of alot worse than it was for going under a semi haha

sorry to hear about your poor car.

I rearended someone in my 85 rx-7. Which was in great shape, cosmetically and mechanically. I loved that car
locked up the brakes from a panic stop and rear ended someone and hit w/ the headlight and that bent a bunch of stuff.

i opted to sell the car cheap and get something straight rather than fix her

sorry to hear about this.
And hope you can get another 7.

yeah, theres frame damage. Anything can be fixed, but it'd be cheaper to buy an FC shell and swap things over, and keep it as a parts car.

rain can defanitly be a scarry thing when you dont know how to handle it.

i was on the freeway a few nights ago, (i have very bald rear tires... i drift) and my rear end slid out about 6 feet to the left.. scared the **** outa me i was doing 65mph too off the gas the whole time.. my buddy behind me saw it, he thought i was toast. but luckly i pulled it straight. I thought i blew a tire, turned out i just hydroplaned real good

situations like this make me glad that i do a lot of drifting, because when put into a sliding condition, i know how to handle it..
