damnit 7:30 in the morning of February 27.it was raining hard, barely got my fc for a week.i pasted a huge puddle and drove as i would usually shifted to second and started to lose control...freaked out and this happened before i knew it...my FC destroyed a wall, now the fc has a beaten up front end, and fenders...shit :wallbash: no leaks which is a good thing... damnit it was the worst day ever!

mort2002 02-28-07 10:44 AM

mort2002 02-28-07 11:12 AM

i know what its like some ass hat backed into my 92 civic HB (DD) like 3 weeks ago... it sucks.. cost me over 200 for just the body parts, no paint either..:(

RRTEC 02-28-07 11:14 AM

Pics needed.

rx7mcd 02-28-07 11:15 AM

I know your pain. I rear ended a 1972 Dodge Pickup last month with my 240sx and I messed up the front right cornor of the car and it cause the car to have minor frame damage and that sucked more than anything :( and the cops were jerks becuase one of my 3 lights weren't working and i got 2 fixit tickets in less than a week

slpin 02-28-07 12:08 PM

how fast were you going?

Roen 02-28-07 12:18 PM

mm.....repair the car and buy good rain tires?

WadeMCarter 02-28-07 12:35 PM

PICS... all may not be lost.

rotaryperv 02-28-07 01:46 PM

Where in so cal R U ? I live in 90255 ,

I have a red N/ A hood that you can have if you need it .

Sindregutt 02-28-07 03:14 PM

Dont fix it. Wait for more rain and try some more! Get the control and THEN you can get your car all shiny again :D

tomoaac 02-28-07 06:18 PM

i know the pain

Around 3 years ago, i was driving hard on country roads in the UK. The roads wind between farms are a lot of fun.

It was around 2 in the morning, I was really pushing hard in dry conditions, came around a left hand corner at around 70mph ONLY TO BE FACED BY MUD COVERING THE ROAD

I was stright off the gas, but car the understeered. I was getting no responce from the steering. Dabbed the brakes to try to balance the car, didn't work!
Only one thing to do power out with some oversteer

It worked got control back, but the drift put the back end into the tree on the right side of the road, spun me round and i pilled into trees on the left.

What a mess + had to run 3 miles to get mates to get the thing out. Car was a real twisted heap.

ITS TRUE YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS ROUND THE CORNER, since then racing is for the track only. Which is great when i run rings around new cars on the track! and then tell them it cost me about £1000

raptor22 02-28-07 06:39 PM

i'd say totalled on that one...

MmSadda 02-28-07 06:41 PM

Ouch. I can't believe that's only cosmetic.

tr4c3 02-28-07 06:45 PM

Damn dude. Sorry for your loss.

MechE00 02-28-07 07:39 PM

Crap... that sucks. Looks like that RX-7 is now a parts car.

I can't really parse what you wrote about what happened, so I can't really guess if there's some advice to give for avoiding a similar outcome in the future.

I've been driving rwd without any electronic gadgets for a long time without any real difficulties, but sometimes, if your tires are a little bald, or you happen to hit an oil slick, you just end up as a passenger when you thought you were the driver.

Good luck with your transportation... at least nobody was injured, right? Cars can be replaced.

DriftingB26RX7 02-28-07 08:12 PM

oh man I'm sorry for your losss

aznpoopy 02-28-07 08:15 PM

sorry about the accident

first time i drove rwd in the rain and i spun out as well. didn't hit anything luckily.

Boosted11 02-28-07 08:27 PM

Man that sucks, good think no one was hurt.

When i seen the first pic i was saying oh wow no big deal, then the pic of the real damage was the 2nd pic and was like holy!

helghast7 02-28-07 08:39 PM

are the internals really ok?
i said a prayer for your pop up light, may it rest in pieces. :(

RotorHead87 02-28-07 08:56 PM

whoa damn! you just got the car too...sorry about the loss but your gonna have to go car shopping again.

andersonvann 02-28-07 09:00 PM

from what i heard from the tower he said there were no leaks..the engine did not get involved...ahh shit i cannnot stop thinking abt this incident, sucks shit, thanks for all the support guys..

dreadseb 02-28-07 09:01 PM

Holy shit dude, its worse than you made it sound. I doubt that is very savable, please tell me the wheels are still good though.

FCKing1995 02-28-07 09:09 PM

holy shit. i thought you meant minor fender bender thing. that thing is now a parts car. find you a cheap shell and drop the engine into it and salvage any parts you can off of it. going that route you might get off the hook only spending $2000 and alot of time. sorry about the car man. goes to show you can never be too careful. it bites you in the ass when you least expect it, so always be weary

xUnKnOwNx 02-28-07 11:01 PM

ouch. thats why i hate to drive in the rain with my 7. i spun out numerous times but luckily didnt hit anything. ever since my first spun out, im scared to drive in the rain now. but i have no choice.

cptpain 02-28-07 11:38 PM

if you want to learn to drive in the rain in RWD....

when it rains, VERY CAREFULLY drive to a big and empty piece of asphalt or concrete and no light poles

then have at it....

guitar_blues 02-28-07 11:42 PM

i only ever drift when it is rainin my fb is too underpowered for anything else but its deffinitly alot different then in the dry road conditions make anything change muds by far the worst :P

HellPhyre 02-28-07 11:42 PM

my condolences man, hit me to heart aswell as that looks exactly like my 7

WadeMCarter 02-28-07 11:44 PM

ahh i just had a terrible flashback of what my rx-7 looked like when someone ran the intersection...horrible, horrible day. get another rx-7. the sooner, the better. or else, this little thing in the back of your head, will grow into a huge thing, and you cant get it off your mind, and then all you do is obsess over another rx-7, until you -- oh sorry im getting carried away. sorry about the car. get another soon :)

jonesfromindia 02-28-07 11:50 PM

mother of god.....

Terrh 03-01-07 12:06 AM

ouch.

I don't think "it's a parts car" now though... I think if you have a parts car and some mechanical aptitude you can fix that, it's mostly a matter of replacing parts.

I'd be willing to bet that there is alot of frame damage under that, and that takes alot more than bolting on new parts to fix.

Mutaku 03-01-07 01:05 AM

Ouch that sucks. My first time in the rain I spun out (actually was like the 4th time I think) mainly because I floored it on a soft turn. I figured i was going straight enough ha ha. Don't do that anymore. Anyway See if you have frame damage and go from there.

staticguitar313 03-01-07 01:22 AM

i feel your pain, i fucked up in the rain back 2 years ago this month shortly after getting my first seven, spun up a curn an kissed a tree, i got away with having to replace a fender and mirror tho. Sorry for your loss, but that car is indeed totalled.

sleeper7 03-01-07 01:35 AM

haha i remember when i was learning to drive, (i thought i could drift back then) i had a really nice s14 se that was pearl white (custom paint job). the car used to be my moms, and i got it for my 16th birthday. well when i was 17 i made a turbo kit using the cummins turbo, and anything else i could find. i bought some cheap ass ebay intercooler and made it work, used some fence piping for exhaust, and drove it like it was the bat mobile. i got it to 305 whp with cheap ass bolt ons, and a boost controller... then fast and the furious first came out. and for some reason i thought the message of the movie was that exotic imports arent worth their money, that if you put some tlc into your car you can wamp their ass. so one day after work i was driving on the freeway, and this carrera came out of nowhere. so i punched it, caught him, and tried to pass him. doing this wouldnt have been so stupid except we were on I15 at 1:30 in the morning, and it was pouring rain.
i was doing fine, then we started to approach 115mph. we went around a slight corner, and the rear end broke loose! i turned it into a drift for a second, then it went totally out of controll. i bashed the cement baracades on the west side of the road, then did a 540 across the road and bashed the one on the east side. then after another 180 i stopped in the middle of the road. (i was scared shitless) car was totaled, i realized i needed to take a professional driving course, and i grew the fuck up and stopped playing in the rain.

1987tIIc 03-01-07 01:56 AM

holy titty fucking christ......

Would you like to sell your motor? i need an extra.

Spirit Rx-7 03-01-07 02:11 AM

damn, that dosn't look too good! that sucks. i have never lost control in the rain, unless i intended too, but then again i drive like an old lady in the rain. i did spun out from ice though :uh:

i can drift my SA on drag tires when its dry. the 12 is a beast. as for rain. i used to driftm y FC in the rain every chance i got. it actually handled better on wet roads overall than my accord.

sLoW'n'StEaDy 03-01-07 07:25 AM

thats fixable... The RX7 i bought was about that bad. The P.O. of mine bounced it of a concrete median and then UNDER a semi. I had to pull a few dents from the "frame" behind the pass. fender, but it was pretty easy. I just used a chain and an engine hoist to straighten it out. Then bought a fender, headlight assy. and a body kit. You CANNOT tell it was in an accident what so ever. Well, besides may be the fact the fender is in primer but...

if somebody didnt read what damage was done to the car, it sounds a hell of alot worse than it was for going under a semi haha

Hellbent1stN2ndownr 03-01-07 07:38 AM

Eh, sorry for the loss, easy in the rain next time. and GO GET ANOTHER 7.

all my cars except one have been RWD, it can be a fucking whore in the rain.

My5ABaby 03-01-07 08:00 AM

It'll buff out. I wanna see the wall. I bet it got it's ass kicked. The 7 can't lose!

SpooledupRacing 03-01-07 08:29 AM

SpooledupRacing 03-01-07 08:30 AM

if those happen to be 4 lug rims I want them!!!

andersonvann 03-01-07 07:23 PM

those rims are 5 lug bro...stock bbsmesh from convertible

Node 03-01-07 07:42 PM

sorry to hear about your poor car.

I rearended someone in my 85 rx-7. Which was in great shape, cosmetically and mechanically. I loved that car
locked up the brakes from a panic stop and rear ended someone and hit w/ the headlight and that bent a bunch of stuff.

i opted to sell the car cheap and get something straight rather than fix her :(

sorry to hear about this.
And hope you can get another 7.
:(
-Ben Martin

reatrdedspleen 03-01-07 07:55 PM

yeah, theres frame damage. Anything can be fixed, but it'd be cheaper to buy an FC shell and swap things over, and keep it as a parts car.

rain can defanitly be a scarry thing when you dont know how to handle it.

i was on the freeway a few nights ago, (i have very bald rear tires... i drift) and my rear end slid out about 6 feet to the left.. scared the shit outa me i was doing 65mph too off the gas the whole time.. my buddy behind me saw it, he thought i was toast. but luckly i pulled it straight. I thought i blew a tire, turned out i just hydroplaned real good

situations like this make me glad that i do a lot of drifting, because when put into a sliding condition, i know how to handle it..
