New Rotary Owner
Hi guys, I'll be buying a friends Turbo II next week so I'm already celebrating, hehe. I own a Nissan 240SX as well so I guess you could say I have a drifters collection, although I'm not really into destroying my car to look good sliding around. At any rate here's the specs on the car.
1990 Turbo II
- White, Body is OK
- JDM 13B-T Motor (102/104 compression)
- Racing Beat Dual Exhaust, Center Muffler Removed
- Turbo Timer
- Downpipe of Some Sort LOL.
Mods I'll be looking to do soon:
- Boost Gauge ( + 1000424 hp!)
- Free Flow Filter w/ Cold Air Box
- RadioShack Home-Made Grounding Kit
Now my NooB questions:
1. Is there anything special about the JDM S5 motor?
2. What sort of modifications would you be looking to do next?
3. What are some weight reducing mods on this thing?
4. Free mods?
5. Launch RPMs for a track surface?
6. Power output for the engine at this level?
7. Avg. 1/4 mile time / trap speed?
BTW, I paid only $2500 for the car! I think it's well worth it for the car, especially since I always wanted one!

Hehe, figured as much. I've been searching along and I'll eventually find the answers, but if someone wants to be kind and tell me I would be most appreciative :P

1) Nope, nothing special
2) Should be looking into some fuel mods. Bigger pump, injectors, fuel controller (S-AFC or similar) Etc... Make sure the cooling system is up to spec and working perfectly.
3)You can remove some of the sound deadening material in the hatch. Remove A/C, P/S, etc...
4)Not really...
5)Depending on tires and technique, probably a nice slip of the clutch from 3500 or so..
6)Probably around 245ish
7)Stock 1/4 time is around a 14.9@94

Yes, if it has a DP with high flow RB exhaust, you want to make sure your getting enough fuel at all times.
Make sure the car is well tuned & serviced before putting your money into the mods...
Do you have emmision testing there?
If not, lose the air pump & get a dual alt/ pully...
I prefer a single exhaust because its much lighter & cheaper too!
Congrats & enjoy her!
Good luck/skill!
