new to rotary Need answers

I Have a 87 rx7 13b with a bad engine can a 89-91 13b engine swap directly in or is there alot of custom work to do any help or answers will get me on my way.

not to be an *** but search. oh and you will get flamed by other members for not searching. And the answer is yes but with work. The 6th ports are different and the VDI isnt there on a 87.

it will fit, but you will need custom work like changing the front cover and MOP, adding RPM switches and solenoids, taking the old engine harness and modifiying it to work on the newer motor, etc

It is not plug and play.

you can put the S5 block in to make it easy, things you'll have to keep off the old engine is the front cover, injectors, MAF, intake manifolds, basically everything that bolts to the block.

im doing the same project ..and im gonna try to take just about everything out from under the das....harness to gauges, engine, climate contral unit, cpu, ecu.etc....does that sound like it will work....kinda of a newb

s5 meter looks like it might be better....radiator alot cleaner and nicer 2

have an 88 gtu....bad engine due to overheating.bought 91 gxl..with 24k on rebuilt motor and tranny, for 200 bucks.........nice huh......been looking for a year..and on a tight budget
