New rebuild very odd start and idle HELP!!!
I did a search on this but can't find anything. I finally got the new rebuild started after using the ATF method and blowing all of the gas out of it after it had obviously flooded. Now the car will start but will not hold an idle unless I hold the accelerator halfway down. Other than holding about 900 RPM's at half throttle there is no other throttle response (more accelerator more RPM's) at all except when I let off of the accelerator it will die. I opened up the idle/air screw on top of the intake and that doesnt seem to help. I checked the AFM to make sure the flap was free... it is. I rechecked the the CAS position and it is right where it needs to be for start-up... dot aligned and such. I can't figure out why it won't stay at idle without having the accelerator pushed halfway. Also when I do get it to idle it almost seems like it's only firing on rotor. Is that possible? I have the trailing and leading plugs hooked up right. The white dot on the ignitor I have going to the front rotor for both leading and trailing. I can just not figure out why there is no throttle response or a smooth idle or any RPM's above 1,000. Please help guys, I feel like I'm so close here I can taste it!!!!
Other stuff....
I had the injectors cleaned and tested at Cruisin Performance. They seem fine. Getting gas obviously.
New plugs
Rechecked all vacuum connections
Thanks!!!!

yup, same with mine. after a few miles on it, it finally got some throttle response. now with 93 miles on it, it idles b/w 1150 and 1250 and revs nice and smooth.

I've gotten that problem fixed. I had to light the stupid lamp on this one. The leading igniter wire was not pushed in all the way preventing leading spark... duh! Amazing it ran at all on just the trailing plugs. I have a new problem now with no power over 2500 rpm's check out my next post. Hope it's not something as stupid as the fix for this one.
