New Radiator....all good except overflow line

Pics to explain...

So yeah...uhmm, what the hell can I dfo about this besides removing the stock air intake assembly? I like the look of the stock air assembly and plus, I don't want to be just sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. That radiator was supposed to be a direct fit and everything fits on it, but that damn overflow tube sticks WAY out.

Also, I got a bottle of anti-freeze from autozone and I didnt notice it was "extended life, works with all colors of anti-freeze" stuff....is that okay or should I be frightened?

Oh also, I reused the old radiator bushings to mount the new one. Should I not have?

Well ****, the OEM radiator has the overflow tube bent downward and the tube on the new rad is straight.

Can you bend brass? I am somewhat scared to...

i would not worry about it. if it bothers you, you can just modify the snorkel and then tape off the hole.

Cut the air Snorkel so that you can slip the hose into one side of it and out the other side.two little holes.no big deal.
OR,take the snorkel off,air box Etc,put on a Cone filter.

I'll just leave it. Knowing my luck, the hose would bust off in the snorkel and my air box fill with coolant.

I just hope it doesn't develop stress fractures from being bent like that.

Is there stress on the hose?

If it bugs you that much, cut off the brass nipple, cut it shorter then solder it back on. That should fix it.

I'd just want you to get rid of that Nasty bend at the Nipple. If the Rad can't give and take coolant from the overflow, you are going to encounter a problem. You can always cut the holes bigger and throw rubber grommets on there to prevent the snorkel from cutting the Tube.
Seems to me though(from what I can see in the pic) that The Snorkel piece can be lifted a touch more to alleviate that Nasty kink though.

I didn't think of grommets, good idea.

I think that is what I'll do, thanks for the thought misterstyx69.

Lame that the radiator I bought fits in all areas BUT the rad overflow tube. I wonder if they even measured, tested, or have even seen an S5 radiator.
