new radiator

i just installed my new Koyo rad. in my 88 rx-7 and when i was testing it out the engine temp was really high. there are no leakes in any of the hoses. i didn't put the radiator shroud back on, is that why it's running so hot? or is it the wires that connect to the bottom right corner of the rad.? help me out i'm not sure whats wrong.
thanks,
Andrew

If you are still using the stock clutch-fan you have to have the radiator shroud and also regardless of what fan you're using you have to have the plastic cover that goes underneath the radiator on it.If it still does it after you have these installed check to see if you upper radiator hose is getting hot.If not your thermastat may be stuck closed and need replacing.Just make sure you get a Mazda one.

easy. might wanna post a subject like "Help with radiator"

definately get the fan shroud on there. you might wanna consider a "cooling panel" inbetween the lights.

might wanna go ahead and replace the thermostat with an OEM one just to be absolutely sure that its good.

also, sometime too thick of a radiator on a street car can hinder cooling instead of helping because its not moving at constant high speeds.

good luck, have fun
