OK, heres the deal.

Car has bouncy idle from 1400-1600. I found a small hole in the front endtank of my intercooler. Its about 1/4 inch in diameter. I started the car, with my hand covering the hole, and it didnt change anything. Installed good TPS, and it is set. What should I be looking for??? When I start it up, and its cold, it gets bitchy about revving up over 3000 rpms. It starts to spudder. If I givie it more gas it will pass the spuddering. If I rev it up to like 6000, it will pop/backfire a couple times on the way down. Ive tried to adjust the idle, but it didnt faze it. Maybe im not adjusting the idle right. Can someone tell me the tests/steps I should do? By the way, ive got the 3800 rpm hesitation I was hoping to be able to drive it to the Import show all the STL guys are going to

Sorry no sympathy from me.There has been all kinds of stuff on this site and others re-idle problems.Get yourself a manual and read it.
PS.Both my TIIs idle at 725+/-15 rpm,and I did it all by my lonesome and the manual.
Hint if your car idles above 1200rpm it is because the throttle is open,or the airbypass solenoid,or the air supply valve is open.(ie it is getting more air than it should and the air flow is monitored by the AFM,otherwise it would stall)

Something that might help a little is the post a while back by I think, Kaegaels. He chuncked the intercooler to the side and in its place put pvc piping. I've done the same thing but not before putting the intercooler on and off zillion times. A straight piece on the turbo side with a 90 degree elbow on the intake side. It gives you room to adjust the fast idle screw and the thermowax device plus more room to screw around with the tps. I forgot what year car you have but the free download at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com or from John Gibsons site should do. Section 4B. You probably know that but maybe someone else might read and learn about the free download available at those sites. My new turboii, salvage vehicle idles like a charm. It took a lot of adjusting I think due to the clown who messed with it prior to me clowning around with it. Bac, acv and airpump in place and working. 750rpm and no hunting and pecking. A quarter inch hole in the intercooler? Whoa. Thats a large hole. Best of luck. Oh yes, don't misunderstand. The intercooler get put back on after adjusting, so please nobody write me about how important the IC is.
