I can't beleive how much you guys like to perpetuate ****. I wasn't taking anybody down for promoting courtesy. I was upset that no matter how nice I try to be in my confusion and misunderstanding, someone still has to find something wrong with it, just so he can look like Mr. Good. Pardon me for wanting to know what this guy had planned for the car. Pardon me if I didn't say it in the types of words that *everyone* can understand. But I am not going to appologize for being confused by a post, and I will not appologize for defending myself against being made to look rude and careless when I simply didn't understand. Look around the site. Look at some of my other posts. Nothing but help. I have rifled through the internet for HOURS trying to find answers for someone if I didn't already know what to say. But everyone around here is just begging for someone to reprimand. People keep saying how much we shouldn't rip on our own, so how about not ripping on ME just because some people are overly sensitive to the way others word things? God damn, give me some credit.

wow, too much drama for me here so im gonna say it fast, its always good to see a new forum member and a new rx7. It may not be in the best shape, but there is always room to do what ever you want with it. Its YOUR car. now go get yourself a full-bridegport and have fun with it!

You got it for 200 and it runs! I like the car even more now lol! How does everyone manage to find deals like this? All i find around here anywhere near that price is drivetrain-less or been ran into a tree or something.

Congradulations on the buy. To find something that still retains all the interior parts and has a straight body for 200 bucks and runs is impressive. My hats off to ya for the buy dude. Good luck with it man. Thats a good investment.

Guys....this IS the internet....you can't see someone's expression on their face to see what "attitude" or "concern" is on their face. When I read her first post, I saw nothing wrong with it. Someone else did. EVERYONE isnt going to read the same post and get the SAME thing out of it. This was/is just a complete missunderstanding...I think on both parties....and it should be forgiven and forgotten.

Move on....

Anywho...enough of Dr. Phil talk....

What are your plans for the car gray86? Like was said before...you REALLY want to take care of that rust under the hood first...because it IS in a load bearing area...and if it gives way..the car will be side-lined. The major parts is around the strut/shock (i always get confused as to which is in the front and which is in the back..so I say both ) towers.

heres another pic(u can see my car on hte hoist lol)

ps i believe the car in the back is actually a LeMans not a GTO but im not positive

It's Canadian. They go by KM/h.

Nice buy man....Glad it's only surface rust.

Keep us updated on the progress. Would love to see it in work.

And PS...It looks like a LeMans to me too..but I cant be for certain.

allright newbies.....all of you shut up now. this IS a technical section for 2nd gen RX7's......and last time I checked his car was a second GEN RX7......and it belongs in this section. His car may not look like a new car but he deserves respect and does not need you all to point out WHAT HE ALREADY KNOWS.

And while the shifter is nice, there is nothing in these pictures that separates this car from any other car, other than the fact that it happens to be manufactured and modeled similarly to this forum's car of choice. Honestly, the GTO in the back cought my eye before the Rx7...... ironic only because I hate domestics.

you're free to give your opinion but you don't have to be a dick about it........you could have just said: wow.....looks like you have a lot of work to do to make her look nice again. you can be critical AND not be a dick at the same time.

We should start up a master thread of good clean-up methods for both interior, exterior and engine bay for all the new owners.

Mine looked like that FC when I first got it and with some elbow grease and patience it came out pretty clean (well, the body is still not in the greatest of shape, but doesn't have any holes ).

You have a good base to start with and can definatly make a nice clean FC out of what you have.

meh.....paint the carbon fiber stuff.......as far as Turbo stuff: YOU CAN turbo the NA motor but I'd recommend swapping in an S4 TII motor in there ( PLUG AND PLAY).....do a quick search and check the stickies at the top of the second Gen section.....and USE THE SEARCH BUTTON.....A LOT!

as far as the rims?? well, i think they are ugly and if you are GOING to get BIGGER WHEELS then you should at least make sure they are wide.....17x7 and 18x7 seems like a waste to me especially since you say you might wanna go turbo.... most you'll fit on a 17X7 would be 235's.....maybe a bit more if you roll the fenders..........

This is like a secret lounge buried deep within the 2nd gen. technical section...

I hate to be a critic, but those are *probably* the ugliest wheels I've ever seen... Ever.

(lol)

j/k, whatever floats your boat. I'm stoked if you're stoked.

Get the car back to near-perfect stock shape and then re-assess your looks/power goals.

Obviously he is just starting out with the 7, so what you see wouldn't be his choice. Buying it for that price is fantastic.

As what the other guys n gals said before all hell broke loose, get that rust sorted out first thing, and go from there. Keep us all posted on how it turns out, be great to see a "rags to riches" thread.

Oh and welcome!

the only reason I have not taken care of the rust yet is because I don't know what colour I am going to be painting the car because I want it to match under the hood as well.Plus it looks way worse in the picture I have pokked at it and scrapped it and then it just goes back to the metal.
