It's great to be young and full of enery. Looks like everthing coming along just fine. Body looks like a good starting point. Years ago I couldn't wait 'til I could pull an engine, rebuild it, get it fired up, go to the drags, etc. Now I find it a "task" just to change the oil on my 4 cars.
Good luck and keep us posted.

and as a side note (because you are new), the maximum image size in a signature is 400x200... your current one is 618 x 227 and then you have a second one of 700 x 54... both of which are a little too big.

You are allowed only a single image that is no more than 400x200 pixles.

Please correct it.

I think with a full black interior, and a nice shiney black paint job would look good...oh and s5 tails.

Great find for $100
good luck

just a quick off topic question, i heard that some body kits like the GP sport dont fit well on 86-88 models, what is the procedure to make them fit? is it something in the bumper foam?

hey man

congrats on the find, I am also from houston and as of last week doing the same thing(sort of) as you.

I found a 7 for 700$, pretty much trash EXCEPT for the engine which is VERY nice. The suspension has the full 188K miles which as you could proobably guess, rides HORRIBLE.

heres a few pics.

lets meet up or something and compare and maybe figure some **** out together.

these pics look alot better than the actual car.

this side is pretty nice

this is the interior. The drivers seat feels like a bunch of coat hangers with a cover on the outside. not cool.

I am going to make it into just a fun daily driver eventually as well as a respectable 7.

oh and also

someone mentioned earlier about making a riveted aluminum dash. Anyone know any good instructional/informative sites on how to do this?

Sorry to hijack

Now that is a base model, with the optional alum wheels... note the lack of power mirrors

A large and noble undertaking I'd recommend used headlight covers, a new fender and new rear bumper cover (these new parts are so cheap from victoria british) and a used sunroof. If you have a few $ victoria british has S5 bumper covers for the front @ $199!! get yourself the parts for 5 lug brakes/hub swap since your stock stuff is likely toast and the upgrade won't cost you much more than new stock stuff (hell, you can order new replacement TII calipers and rotors and just get used hubs for the swap). Interiors shouldn't cost too much, the dash may be a pain to get used on the net since it's so large but all parts should be easy to find in grey. cool project though, I'd pull the motor and get the new body parts and have the ENTIRE car sprayed so everything is the same color (same color as the Miata is a good idea). Free S5 motor?!? cool, just get a friend who paints and you're all set!!

hey dorikazi, thats awsome, congrats, yours does look a little better then mine, plus it runs, hahaha. ya, lets meet up sometime, i live near dairy ashford and I10, my SN on AIM is roadstersquirrel

also korkskrew im very intrested in the interior, hit me up on AIM aswell, so we can discuss it, cause i would like to know what ALL comes with it. also, if you have anything else that i may want, i wouldint mind getting it too, if the price is good, but seeing as how your from canada, it may be a little more, but i guess i dont mind paying it if its in good condition.

oh and john88se, i took a look at victoria british website, i saw some nice stuff, i think i may order a few things from them, but my friend is also giving me a S5 front bumper

Damn good find for $100!!! Great job.
It looks like a lot of work needed to be done.
I am happy to see young guys like you take on project with this kind of attitude. That makes me want to go at it again. Those are the days...... Anyway, keep us posted and best of luck.
I might be picking up a 91 FC myself as a beater also. Hope things goes well.
