New Owner-Clutch Help

I purchased an 87 RX-7 non turbo almost a year ago and slowly I have been trying to restore it. Everyone keeps telling to sell considering all of the problems but I am standing my ground on this because I love that car.

Anyways I am replacing the clutch this week and I was wondering if anyone could recomend a good clutch kit. At the moment my clutch is fried and I need something asap just so I can drive it. I don't want to race it out or anything I am at the moment only able to restore it.

Is there any do's or don't I should also be considering since I am pretty much doing the work myself.

Any help would rock. Thank you!

you should be fine with a stock (OEM) replacement. It's more than enough for an NA and it will be cheap.

www.nopi.com for cheap parts.

NOw here are MY thoughts on your restoration:

Make sure you RESTORE the parts that are broken and DO NOT HAVE AFTERMARKET upgrades/replacements, if you are able to get better suspension then do so and so on util your car is finished. It's cool to restore cars but only when the value will increase after restoration (which the RX7 will not do).

What have you done so far?

I haven’t done a whole lot to the car so far. So what I have had done is basic up keep.
The only real iffy thing I have done is having custom oil hoses made because getting oil hoses seemed to be a pain in Alaska and I knew the guys doing it so it was cool and just last week I replaced the alternator.
So now the only things I have lined up next are the radiator and the clutch. I don’t want after market stuff so I have been attempting to avoid it at all costs.
I don’t really want to restore the car to increase its value to sell or anything. Visually I loved the older RX-7’s the most and I have wanted one ever since I saw my brothers. This car is for me and only me.
