new motor?
i was wondering if i can get suggestions on where to get a new motor..
i know were to get used jspec motors,but its hit or miss with them,plus same with atkins some friends had good one,some friends had ones were they broke down right after 50 miles..so im wondering if i should just spend the more money and get a reman from mazda and know defintley that that bitch is in good condition with o miles..the guy whos gonna do the work was just gonna get me a 87 turbo core and go from there..but i dont know i already got the FD rotors..maybe mazda reman would be best bet i dunno help?

There is some thread floating around thats lists numerous engine rebuilders. As far as atkins they have a very good reputation. If motors are blowing with only 50 miles on them, it sounds like an improper break-in to me.

the guy whos gonna do the swap..since i aint got no time..and this is my daily driver..he said some kind of bearings were wearin out on a couple of atkins crate motors that he put in for customers..i wanna get something with like 0 miles..i wouldnt mind spendin the 4k..and gettin 1k back for my motor..so 3k all together,thats what mazda wants for a 87 t2 motor wit 0 miles..i have a gxl..so its not like i just need a rebuild..i just need boost..my na motor just hit 84,kkkk..today.motor is perfect,this guy was gonna put the fd rotors in my na..and just build me a turbo motor out of my na motor,but since its a daily driver,i wouldnt have anything to drive if i went that direction..so i dunno..i have to wait like a month till i get the money up..im between jobs..so 3k for a new motor..
